Basia Radomski

Basia brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications and journalism to her consulting work. She started her career at the CBC as a writer and producer, working on some of the biggest news stories. She transitioned to communications management, working for a municipal government, advising the CAO, Mayor, politicians and senior leadership team on critical crisis issues, navigating relationships with provincial and federal agencies and leading communications through the COVID-19 pandemic. She acted as the Emergency Information Officer (EIO) in her role at the government, leading all emergency communications response, planning and execution during flooding, ice storms, major fires affecting community assets, and COVID-19. Basia also led the Municipality’s Tourism division, creating marketing and advertising plans to reach diverse audiences and attract visitors to the community and build brand recognition. Her communications and marketing plans are rooted in the principles established by the International Association for Public Participation – focused on the audience with tailored messages. She has honed this experience working in the private sector, leveraging her media skills and understanding of the inner workings of the government to successfully increase the share of market voice and media coverage for a large multinational law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright. She has a pragmatic approach to crisis communications, leveraging her media experience to anticipate stories and issues to frame out proactive best-in-class strategies to protect the company's reputation and brand.

Bill McKee

Bill McKee is a strategic advisor specializing in crisis and issues management, leadership development, strategic communications, and organizational resilience. As Co-Owner and Principal of SMRT Solution Consulting Inc., he works with public and private-sector organizations to navigate complex operational, reputational, and governance challenges, providing practical strategies that support effective leadership and sound decision-making.

Bill brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in high-stakes operational environments, combined with expertise in labour relations, legal advocacy, and organizational strategy. His multidisciplinary background allows him to assess complex issues from operational, legal, and stakeholder perspectives. helping organizations manage risk, resolve conflict, and strengthen leadership capacity.

At SMRT Solution, Bill advises senior leaders and executive teams on crisis and issues management, strategic communications, organizational reviews, leadership coaching, and emergency management training and planning. His work focuses on helping organizations anticipate risk, manage critical incidents, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and build resilient systems and leadership structures that can perform under pressure.

Bill's experience includes facilitating executive workshops, conducting organizational and risk assessments, developing strategic plans, emergency response frameworks, and guiding leadership teams through complex operational and reputational challenges. He is particularly skilled in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, negotiations, and navigating highly regulated or politically sensitive environments.

A licensed paralegal in the province of Ontario, with significant experience in labour relations and administrative law, Bill also provided insight into regulatory compliance and governance considerations that often arise during crises or organizational disputes. The legal and policy perspective complements his operational background and strengthens his ability to provide balanced strategic advice.
